MeT forecasts light to moderate rains in Jammu and Kashmir from May 3-8

Cloudy weather with chances of light to moderate rain/snow most likely during May 3 evening to May 5

Weather remained dry in Jammu and Kashmir as the Met Department on Saturday forecast a mainly clear to partly cloudy weather during the next 24 hours.

“However, a brief spell of thunderstorm with rain may occur towards late afternoon/evening. Cloudy weather with chances of light to moderate rain/snow most likely during May 3 evening to May 5,” the Department said in a statement.

Srinagar recorded 12 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam 5.8 and Gulmarg 5.5 as the minimum temperature on Saturday.

Drass registered 1.8 degrees Celsius, Leh 6.4 and Kargil 6.7 as the minimum temperature.

Jammu had 25.6, Katra 23, Batote 13.5, Banihal 13.8 and Bhaderwah 11.8 as the minimum temperature.

586 cases registered, Rs 13.2 lakh fine imposed during Ramadhan by LMD across JK

The department also aims to continue its market checking drives in the coming days on the eve of upcoming festival of Eid

In order to protect the interest of consumers during the holy month of Ramadhan, the Legal Metrology Department conducted intensive market checking campaigns across the UT.

During the campaign 586 cases were registered against the erring traders who were found violating various sections of the Legal Metrology Act, 2009.

The violators were found across different business establishment and outlets including LPG dealers, Vegetable, Fruit, mutton and poultry sellers as well.

During the drive, the department realized a fine of Rs 13,00,250 as fine from such traders after they pleaded for compounding of their cases departmentally.

The department also redressed the various complaints which were received against traders indulging in overcharging and pasting inflated MRP stickers on the products.

It is pertinent to mention that Controller Legal Metrology J&K, Majid K A Drabu, had earlier instructed all the officers of the Department to intensify the Market checking inspections during the month of Ramadhan to prevent any unfair trade practices adopted by the unscrupulous traders.

In addition to the urban areas, special market checking campaigns were launched towards the rural belts of Jammu and Kashmir Regions as well and by the order of the Controller LMD, special teams were constituted and sent to inspect areas like Mandi, Mendhar, Bani, Basohli, Chenani, Chhatroo etc, in the Jammu region and Beerwah, Khansahib, Lar, Kangan, Damhal Hanji Pora, Devsar etc in the Kashmir Region.

The department also aims to continue its market checking drives in the coming days on the eve of upcoming festival of Eid.

LMD reiterates that in case of any complaint, the consumers are requested to contact the Department.

JK Police Physical test (PET/PST) schedule for Recruitment of Constables in 02 Women Battalion of J&K Police under TRP’ 2019-22 (Jammu Province).

Reference:- PHQ J&K Advertisement notice No.Pers-Rectt-A-22/2019/247’199 dated 11.01.2022.

For the recruitment of Constables in 02 Women Battalion of J&K Police, advertised vide the above referenced notice, the J&K Police Recruitment Board (02 Women Battalions) has formulated an even schedule for conduct of Physical Endurance Test(PET) and Physical Standard Test(PST) w.c.f 20,05.2022 in respect of candidates hailing from Jammu Province (Copy enclosed as Annexure-A). All the candidates conforming to the proscribed educational. Physical and other required standards as per the Advertisement Notice issued on the subject arc-informed that their admit cards will be available w.e.f 10.05.2022, 900 hours onwards from official Website of J&K Police i.e www.jkpolice.gov.in. All the candidates are required to bring along-with them downloaded copy of admit card, valid ID proof, all original testimonials, latest Covid-19 free (RTPCR) certificate and no risk certificate on the date of test. The Covid (RTPCR) test must have been conducted within 48 hours from the date of physical test. The candidates are advised to adhere to Covid Appropriate behavior including wearing of face masks.

The appearing candidates should reach the venue as per scheduled time and dale reflected in their respective admit cards.
