Teacher killing in Kulgam, protests hit streets in Srinagar

Scores of protestors on Tuesday staged a massive protest in Indra Nagar area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar, against the killing of a Hindu School teacher in Kulgam.

Scores of protestors on Tuesday staged a massive protest in the Indra Nagar area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar, against the killing of a Hindu School teacher in Kulgam.

The protesters were demanding relocation and stated that the LG administration has failed to provide security to the minority employees.

Sunil Kumar, a local employee told Rising Kashmir that it is unfortunate that a female teacher was again killed by the enemies of Kashmir.

“Such killings are unacceptable and we urged LG Manoj Sinha to look into this sensitive matter,” he said.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, a school teacher was shot dead by suspected militants in Gopalpora area of Kulgam.

The slain was identified as Rajni Bala, 36, a resident of Jammu’s Samba area sustained multiple gunshot injuries and succumbed to her injuries after being taken to a local hospital.

The firing occurred outside a high school in the Gopalpora area of Kulgam, where she was posted as a teacher

Samba Woman Teacher shot dead in Kulgam by Militants

Female teacher from Samba shot dead in Kulgam. The slain Teacher has been identified as Rajni, Wife of Raj Kumaar of Samba

A Migrant teacher was shot dead by unknowns gunmen suspected to be militants in Gopalpora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.

A top police officer told that a migrant woman by profession teacher was fired upon by militants in Gopalpora.

A senior doctor at DH Kulgam told that the woman was brought dead to the facility.

Soon after the attack whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.

Two JeM militants killed in Overnight gunfight in Awantipora: IGP Kashmir

Says One among the killed militant was involved in killing of a woman and a Peon

Two militants of Jaish-i-Muhammad outfit were killed in an overnight gunfight in Rajpora area of South Kashmir’s Awantipora on Tuesday, officials said.

On the behalf of IGP Kashmir, The Kashmir Police Zone wrote, ” Killed militants identified as Shahid Rather of Tral & Umar Yousuf of Shopian. Besides other militant crimes, militant Shahid was involved in killing of a woman Mst Shakeela of Aripal & a govt employee/ peon Javid Ahmed of Lurgam Tral,”.

The encounter had started at Rajpora on Monday between militants and security forces and was suspended for night due to darkness. With the first light of the day, encounter was resumed during which two JeM militants were killed.

‘Don’t get misled by false information in media’, No plans to disengage Rehbar-e-Khel, Janglat employees: LG Sinha

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday said that the government was not considering disengagement of Rehbar-e-Khel and Rehbar-e-Janglat employees.

The Lieutenant Governor gave this assurance while interacting with a joint delegation of J&K Rehbar-e-Khel Teachers’ Association and All J&K Rehbar-e-Janglat Employees Association which called on him at Raj Bhavan.

The members of the delegation apprised the LG about their concerning issues regarding the apprehension of disengagement and submitted a memorandum of their demands pertaining to the regularisation of their services, salary enhancement etc.

LG Sinha, while interacting with the members of the delegation, assured them that all their concerns and issues would be addressed appropriately. He also said that Rehbar-e-Khel and Rehbar-e-Janglat employees should not get misled by the false information doing rounds in the media.

“The government is not considering disengagement of Rehbar-e-Khel and Rehbar-e-Janglat employees,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

In this connection, he directed Principal Secretary GAD to address all the genuine concerns and issues projected by the delegation, on priority.

Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Principal Secretary to Government, General Administration Department was also present during the interaction.

Earlier on May 23 also, the J&K government stated that it had no plans to disengage employees working under the Rehbar-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat and Nehru Yuva Club (NYC) scheme.

“This is to clarify that the Government of J&K has no plans to disengage employees who are working under Rehber-e-Khel, Rehbar-e-Janglat and NYC scheme,” the J&K Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR-J&K) had tweeted on its official Twitter handle.

Clarification had come after the employees, working under these schemes, hit the roads amid media reports claiming that the government would disengage these employees and re-advertise the posts through Service Selection Board (SSB).

Various political parties too had joined the cause with the employees against the government.

Pulwama Encounter: 02 JeM militants Trapped: IGP Kashmir

Says Killer of Cop Reyaz Ahmad among trapped

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Sunday said that two Jaish-i-Muhammad militants including killer of cop Reyaz Ahmad are trapped in an ongoing encounter at Pulwama.

On the behalf of IGP Kashmir, The Kashmir Police Zone tweeted, “02 local militants of outfit JeM trapped in encounter including killer of our Martyr Constable Reyaz Ahmad. JeM militant Abid Shah had killed our unarmed colleague on 13/5/22.

A gunfight is underway in Gundipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama.
