Applications, through online mode, are invited from the applicants, who are domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, possessing the prescribed Academic /Professional qualification and age, for the post(s) of Medical Officer Homeopathy, Medical Officer Unani and Medical Officer Ayurvedic Department of AYUSH, in Health & Medical Education Department in terms of the “Jammu & Kashmir Indian System of Medicines (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules, 2006, notified vide SRO 379 dated 12.12.2006 and “Jammu & Kashmir Probationer (Conduct of Service, Pay & Allowance) and Fixation of Tenure Rules, 2020” notified vide S.O. 192 of 2020 dated: 17.06.2020 and Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (Business and Procedure) Rules, 2021

Candidates are advised to go through the instructions and ensure that they meet all the
eligibility conditions prescribed for the post before filing the online Application Form.

Last date for filing of online Application complete in all respects along with the requisite fee (online mode only) is 30.9.2022

The last date for receipt of online applications provided in the notification shall be the cutoff date for determining the eligibility as regards acquisition of domicile certificates, educational or professional qualifications.

The minimum and maximum age will however be reckoned with reference to 1^st January, 2022.

Candidates can edit some of the fields in their online application form from 10.2022 to 03.10.2022 (upto 11:59 P.M) Instructions in this regard will be separately made available on the website.

Candidates are required to upload all the mandatory prescribed/requisite documents alongwith the online application form.

In case the mandatory prescribed/requisite documents are not uploaded with the online applications form, the application form/candidature of the applicant is liable to be rejected without any further notice.

Candidates are not required to submit hard copy of the online application form or any other documents to the Commission at the time of filling up of online application form.

The candidates will however, be required to present/produce a down loaded copy of the online form alongwith original certificates at the time of documentary verification.

Candidates are advised in their own interest to submit online applications much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date to avoid the possibility of disconnection/inability to pay fee or failure to login to the online application portal on account of heavy load on the website during the closing days

J&K Police has launched the online mobile application “JK Ecop”, a simple-to-use interface designed to help common users.

As per a police spokesperson the app permits users to avail a range of options, from registering an issue to downloading a copy of FIR.

Citizens can request information such as obtaining a character certificate or employee verification, events or tenant/PG verification using this application. Information about missing persons, dead bodies that have not been identified, etc. can be obtained via this website.

Other Traffic Police services are offered to citizens via this app. The options range from reporting of a traffic violation to submitting a report of an accident. The information about the status of the highway within the app will assist citizens to organize their journey.

The convenience of paying challans online using this app will not just assist the customers but reduce the workload of the department.

DGP J&K Sh Dilbag Singh launches IOS version of JK-eCop mobile app. Laudes Crime Branch Hqdrs for this initiative & hoped that the IOS version of app will further bridge the gap between the Police and general Public by offering services by a click on their electronic devices

Light to moderate rain forecast today, largely dry weather next week

Amid forecast for widespread light to moderate rain and thunder in next 24 hours and largely dry weather thereafter next week, Jammu and Kashmir’s most parts recorded a drop in minimum temperature on Sunday.

A meteorological department official here told that no major weather activity was expected over the entire region till 3rd September although light rain over isolated places can’t be ruled out.

In the last 24 hours till 0830 a.m. today, the official said Srinagar received traces of rain, Kupwara 2.1mm Gulmarg 1.3mm and Katra 10.4mm.

Regarding minimum temperature, the official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 16.4°C against 17.6°C on the previous night. The temperature was normal for the summer capital during this part of the year, he said.

Qazigund recorded a low of 15.4°C against 17.2°C on the previous night. However, the temperature was 0.9°C above normal there, he said.

In Pahalgam, the mercury settled at 11.5°C against 11.2°C on the previous night and it was normal for the south Kashmir resort.

World famous Gulmarg resort recorded a low of 9.0°C, the same as on the previous night. It was 2.0°C below normal for the north Kashmir place.

Kupwara town saw a low of 16.7°C against 15.2°C on previous night and it is 1.7°C above normal for the place during this time of the season, the official said.

Jammu recorded a low of 25.3°C against 25.8°C on the previous night. It was 1.2°C above normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said. Banihal recorded a low of 16.5°C, Batote 17.9°C, Katra 23.0°C and Bhadarwah 19.1°C.

Big Update regarding March Session in Schools

The J&K government Saturday announced that it had decided to shift the academic session and would hold annual examinations in March.

Talking to Greater Kashmir, Principal Secretary School Education Department (SED) Alok Kumar confirmed that it had been decided that the session would be shifted from November to March.

“It is certain that we will shift the session to March. You take it for granted because we have discussed and decided to shift the session to March,” Kumar told Greater Kashmir.

He said that things had been finalised and the final order would be issued within days.

“We have decided it but it will take us some time to issue a formal order,” he said.

As per the government decision, the annual-2022 board exams for classes 10th to 12th would be held in March 2023 instead of November-December 2022.

Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta in April this year said that J&K would fully implement the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) from the current academic session and also move to a uniform academic calendar which in turn would be synchronised to the national academic calendar.

The Higher Education Department (HED) already shifted the academic session to July from the current year in line with the National Academic Calendar.

“Same will be followed by the School Education Department (SED) so that the academic calendar will be in sync with HED and the national academic calendar,” an official said.

A high-level committee constituted by the government was tasked to suggest the ways and means on how to go about it.

The committee suggested the operational mechanism for shifting the academic session to March from the current session.

Meanwhile, an official said there were issues related to the snow-bound areas.

“However, the department has worked out a plan to smoothly implement the March session in snow-bound areas,” he said.

The Principal Secretary SED said that the annual exam for class 10th to 12th students from plain areas would be held in the second week of March while the exam of snow-bound areas would be held in April and results would be declared in June.

About the conduct of exams for lower classes, he said that the department would announce it at the right time.

“I have recently joined the department. Let me know the department and all the decisions will be taken accordingly,” he said.

About the transfers ordered under Annual Transfer Drive (ATD), he said the issue needs to be understood properly. “Since the day I joined the department, I have heard so many grievances. I have heard arguments from both sides, for some people ATD is good while others oppose it,” he said

JKSSB Meeting for conduct of Computer Based Tests

Meeting with Exam Conducting Agencies (ECAs) for conduct of Computer Based Tests

Introduction

Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board has been conducting examinations through digital mode and the recruitment process of such examinations involves inviting applications, conduct of examinations, evaluation of candidates, verification of documents and formation of panel of eligible candidates. The Computer Based Tests (CBTs) are conducted in English Language only. Considering that JKSSB is the main recruitment Agency in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, each employment Notification issued by it, attracts huge number of application forms.

Flawless conduct of CBTs require the Examination Conducting Agency (ECA) to undertake meticulous planning large scale mobilization of resources and efficient capturing, handling and processing of data. The Examination software (version) used should be certified and thoroughly tested for ensuring integrity of the examination. Adopting certified technology security measures in protecting and transmitting sensitive data is another very important requirement.

Activities

Major activities to be undertaken by ECA for safe conduct of CBTs under multiple shifts are as under:-

Pre–Examination

Identification, selection and preparation of adequate number of standard venues in Major cities and towns for the conduct of Computer Based Tests within stipulated time. These examination centers should have a robust LAN with State-of-the-art networking devices and sufficient power back up to ensure an uninterrupted exam. These examination centers should have good road connectivity and meet the parameters set by JKSSB.

Scheduling of candidates to ensure uniform distribution for multiple shifts and generation of E-Call letters. Special care is required for scheduling of persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates to PwBD friendly venues at accessible

Pre-audit of all examination venues for parameters such as Zero-Black spot CCTV coverage, mock testing of the system at full load covering all aspects to avoid failures during examination due to delay in downloading of question Paper (QP) to primary server and candidate nodes, buffering issues, taking over by secondary server in case
